The Rev. Dr. Mark W. Johnson recently celebrated twenty-two years in ordained ministry and is in his seventh year at Mt. Olive UMC. He received both his Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry degrees from the Iliff School of Theology in Denver, Colorado and was privileged to study narrative preaching under Thomas Troeger and Richard Ward. Other influences include Gene Lowry, Fred Craddock and Ed Kilbourne.
Mark and his wife, Sandi (Pastor of Christ United Methodist Church of the Deaf), are the proud parents of seven children and are dedicated to spoiling their thirteen grandchildren. Both Mark and Sandi are passionate about mission work having led volunteer in mission teams to Russia, Kenya, Honduras, New Orleans, and Southwest Colorado. They have also led pilgrimages to the Holy Land.
Pastor Mark enjoys hiking, exploring lighthouses, photography, guitar, banjo, and theater. He has volunteered as a chaplain in both medical and law enforcement settings.
